The group of dinosaurs named ankylosaurids were built for battle. They were large, strong animals covered with armor plates, perfect for defending themselves against the claws and teeth of carnivorous dinosaurs. Despite their fearsome appearance, Ankylosaurids were plant eaters that did not attack other animals.
