STARRED REVIEW

Cover action shots, a big container truck, a stop watch, and pyramid arrows draw attention to topics in this much-needed series. Each book contains world applications, modern and historical aspects, a Hands On or Try This section, and answers to questions posed in the text. Each time a question is presented in the text, the page is noted for the answer. Word Band definitions are succinct and directly applicable to the illustration on that page. Math and science are areas where schools struggle to help student progress. Combination of science and math, and creative presentations of photographs and illustrations offer an excellent series. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
