Series review: Peace Pen Pals
This series takes a look, through the eyes of children, at life in countries plagued by conflict. Each book contains letters between pen pals in which children from the troubled regions explain what life is like. Their correspondents, from the United States and other less troubled countries, reflect on how their own lives have been affected by the conflict, offering different perspectives on complicated issues. Each book is well-written, carefully researched, and visually appealing with a large number of color photographs. RECOMMENDED.
