Heart words are those readers need to know by heart, or on sight, because they are unable to be decoded. This volume presents four related heart words: “is,” “his,” “as,” and “has.” They are used in a fun, decodable story complemented by full-color photographs. Each time one of these heart words in used throughout the text, it is called out, so readers notice it and begin to recognize it.
